Case Romane del Celio is located on Clivo di Scauro, an arched street between the Basilica di S. Gregorio and Villa Celimontana, just north of the Colosseum. Take a taxi to the site, or any number of buses (51, 75, 81, 5, 87, C3, N2, or N11) to the S. Gregorio stop or take the tram (3 or 8) to the Parco Celio stop.

Secreted within the medieval Santi Quattro Coronati is a cardinal's palace, a convent,xa0 a basilica with rare 13th century frescoes inside Chapel of Sylvester called the “medieval Sistine Chapel,” and a 13th-century cloister with possibly the earliest surviving example of the decorative Cosmati inlay stonework. And twice a month, visitors may view spectacular “profane” frescoes, freshly refurbished.
