Stonehenge

Junction of A303 and A344/360, England

The Basics

Entrance to Stonehenge is via timed ticket. You’ll be able to view the stones from a few meters away, and shuttle transportation between the observation areas is included with entry. Access to the stones is limited to 30 minutes, but you can spend as long as you like exploring the site’s visitor center. If you want to visit the Inner Circle and walk among the stones, you’ll need to book a special tour outside of public opening hours. Day tours from London are often combined with nearby attractions such as Oxford, Windsor Castle, Bath, Stratford-Upon-Avon, or the Cotswolds.

Amazing trip to Stonehenge!
Frank was an excellent guide and Andre not Pringle was A very good driver. We loved the time spent at Stonehenge, Lacock and Bath. A tip is to just take lunch on the go to have more time at both Lacock and Bath, kong waitingtime for the food.

Stonehenge, Avebury, Cotswolds. Small guided day tour from Bath (Max 14 persons)
We had a fantastic time. Kevin was a great tour guide & gave us tons of info at all of our stops. The bus was clean & smooth, even had a power plug for my phone. My daughter and I enjoyed our trip! Highly recommend! BONUS: we left Bath early & got to Stonehenge early, before all the crowds got too big. So my pictures had very few people in them. A true PLUS!!!

Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, Salisbury and City of Bath Tour
Anna was a great guide teamed up with our driver, Marious sp?. It’s a long day, but worth it. Very clean and comfortable coach. Our goal was to see Stonehenge and a little more outside of London, and we’re glad we did!

London to Stonehenge Shuttle Bus and Independent Day Trip
Bus driver was very nice. Basically the tour company arranges your bus for you. Once you are at Stonehenge, be aware that you need to download the app in order to do the audio tour. Ever since covid, they no longer have headsets. Make sure your phone has enough data and Battery to do so. The food court is great

Stonehenge and Bath Day Trip from London
This was a perfect way to get out of the busyness of city life and enjoy a scenic drive while also seeing some ancient sites. The bus was comfortable and clean and the driver was superb. Our guide was fun, informative and gave us enough info without being too much. There was plenty of time at Stonehenge, and enough at Bath though we could have stayed longer! All in all, it is a great value and we didn’t feel rushed.

Stonehenge Inner Circle Access Day Trip from London Including Windsor
The inner circle with Simon and Kemi is a must do. I’ve been to Stonehenge before but being able to walk inside gave it a new perspective. Absolutely amazing to be next to such huge stones, definitely brings it to life.

Inner Circle Access of Stonehenge including Bath and Lacock Day Tour from London
The inner circle access to Stonehenge was an incredible experience in my opinion. By the time we got to Bath, it was pretty crowded (noon in August), but still worth seeing. Peter was a great guide. Our group would definitely recommend this trip.

When to Get There

Stonehenge is open all year round, but the most atmospheric time to visit is during the summer or winter solstice, when a huge party celebrates the longest and shortest days of the year, and entrance is free. Although visits are timed, it can get crowded in summer, so arrive early or opt for a sunrise or sunset tour to experience the landmark at its most photogenic.
