Edwin was the best tour guide EVER. He was extremely personable and knowledgeable about Puerto Plata, the waterfalls, as well as the Dominican Republic itself. He was great, highly recommend!

This is a 5 star excursion. We had a grea time. The staff knows how to handle tourists and the monkeys. One of the operators spoke Spanish, English & French. The guide is patriotic and gave a good representation of the Dominican Republic and products made there like coffee and coco. I enjoyed his presentation. I highly recommend this excursion.

The whole excersion was amazing from start to finish. If you want to see the real dominican republic then this is a must. The whole team are funny, real care that you have a good time and E eveything is safe. I can't recommend xtreme Buggys enough

Melvin was very knowledgeable about the history of Dominican Republican. This is a great intimate tour to get away from the touristy options. We got to see the parts of saona island most tours don’t offer. We were never bored on this trip very well planned and worth spending a little more.

This tour is a top tier experience! The guides Danilo and Tao make this tour personalized, engaging and just all around awesome. You are taken to parts of the Dominican Republic that most tourists don’t get an opportunity to see while visiting. The lunch buffet on the tour is amazing- by far the best food we ate while here! We learned so much about the culture, plants, and way of living. If we could give this tour more than 5 stars we definitely would! Trust me…BOOK this one…you will NOT be disappointed!

I chose this tour based on the excellent reviews, and I am sooo glad that I did. This excursion was one of the best I have ever done and was WELL WORTH the money. We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely do this tour again. Melvin our tour operator was fantastic!!! His knowledge of the island was immeasurable. He went out of his way to ensure that our group was comfortable and taken care of. The buffet lunch that he made personally for us was the best meal that we had while in the D.R. Having the small group also allowed us to visit four beaches & a snorkeling location. Additionally, it also made for a shorter commute to & from because of the limited amount of people for pick-ups and drop-offs. Melvin is the epitome of all that the Dominican Republic has to offer to its visitors. Don't be swayed by the cheaper Saona Island tours as they don't compare to the more intimate nature of this small-group tour.

Our tour guide, Domingo, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the Dominican Republic. We got to experience some of the cuisine and sights that DR has to offer, and learn a bit about the history and what the people of DR have had to live through. It was all very insightful for a first-timer like myself. Be mentally and physically prepared for a full-day's worth of activities!

If you are looking for a hike close to Punta Cana, this is it. It was absolutely gorgeous to see the inland beauty of the Dominican Republic. You walk along a 5 kilometer country farm path past plantation fields and hills. The guide was very knowledgeable about the trees and plants we encountered. There were 5 of us aged 34-68 and the hike was no problem.

Positives • We had a great guide (Juan) that spoke English and even Russian and could answer any question that we had about the horses and the Dominican Republic in general. • The transfer from the hotel was very smooth. • Very tame and laid back horses that are well taken care of. No problems for a novice rider. • The terrain was surprisingly diverse, with some forest and not only the beach. • Macau beach is very beautiful, its curvature, secludedness and rocky surroundings make for a great backdrop. Negatives • The main negative: A lot of trash on the way and on the beach. Unfortunately, this is a general problem in the Dominican Republic but it's hard to get used to if you come from a country where this is not the case (Europe, USA,...). It just completely ruins the mood for me to see that. Given that horse riding is a regular experience here and is done daily on the same route, I would expect that there is some more cleanup done. • Given the price you pay for the experience, I would have expected that some more photos would be made. Instead, there was another unrelated photographer that would ride along and take photos on the way and then would want to sell them to us for 40 USD. I found that to be unnecessary friction during my experience (considering the price you pay here). • We were never offered any water even though it was in the description. • The sun sets in the West and this excursion's beach faces East, so don't expect a Hollywood-esque sunset. • The excursion is a round trip. When going back, you don't go via the beach and through a village/regular road instead. I would have preferred going by the beach twice.

Our tour started with timely communications from Edwin. He picked us up right on time - and was not the least bit concerned that we arrived a bit late. (Be sure to check that your ship's time is the same as the time in the Dominican Republic.) Edwin told us lots of interesting information about the area - and about the many professional baseball players from the area. He also arranged for us to have our requested tour guide - Jacabo. At the park, Jacabo and his assistants gave us life jackets and helmets, and made sure we were safely escorted to each waterfall area. The encouraged us, but did not pressure anyone to jump or slide in an area if they did not want to do so. There were several areas to jump in, and several areas to slide down. There were also numerous areas to wade and appreciate the beautiful scenery. Jacobo and his assistants even volunteered to take several photos of us! I highly recommend this trip - and especially Edwin and Jacobo!

Everything was so perfect about this trip. Our tour guide and operator Angel and Roberto were fantastic. Angel was full of knowledge about his home country of the Dominican Republic and shared with us some very interesting facts about his country. My family and I had the perfect day. Highly recommend 10/10 especially if you’re traveling with kids.

It was wonderful to see the authentic side of Dominican Republic during the atv tour. Roads are a bit bumpy so hang on but otherwise it’s highly recommended! Excellent tour guide as well.

I'm usually not one to write a review, but this trip was amazing! Would highly recommend to anyone that knows how to drive a manual, likes to have fun and wants to see the countryside of the Dominican Republic!!

We were able to do all 27 waterfalls! It was their rainy season when we went end of May. Absolutely gorgeous, definitely a must when visiting Dominican Republic! There were about four tour guides that take you through and help you along the way and you jump or slide down all 27!

This was the best tour that I have ever been on. The tour guide was very informative and allowed us to see the real Dominican Republic. It is a very family oriented tour the all can enjoy.
