The Phuket Botanic Garden is located in the Chalong area, about a 15-minute drive southwest of Phuket town. There is no public transport to the garden, but it’s easily reached by taxi or tuk-tuk.
The gardens are open every day except Wednesday. As most of the gardens are outdoors, plan an early morning or late afternoon visit if you want to avoid the midday heat.
The botanical gardens are one of several natural and wildlife attractions in Phuket. The Phuket Orchid Garden is also home to a Thai Village with handicraft shops and cultural performances. Near the botanical gardens, Phuket Zoo houses elephants, monkeys, and crocodiles, and Phuket Bird Park has exotic birds including African crowned cranes, colorful parrots, and ostriches. A large variety of tropical fish and sea creatures, including sharks and sea turtles, live at the Phuket Aquarium.
